5G network

US has warned British Government from using Huawei technology in 5G network. A delegation from US has presented evidence of security threats that may occur by using Chinese firm technology.

A decision is due this month on whether to use the Huawei technology or not. Senior US officers passed over a written account of technical data that sources claim challenged British intelligence’s own technical assessment that it’d be attainable to use Huawei within the 5G infrastructure while not risks to national security.

Last year also Trump administration banned many companies who were found selling components and technology to Huawei and 68 other related companies suspecting security threats. Earlier instances also shows that US has warned companies that usage of Huawei technology would lead to intelligence sharing.

A government official stated that the security and resilience of the UK’s telecoms networks is of predominant importance and that the government continues to contemplate its position on high risk vendors and a conclusion shall be made in due course.
