Lee Jun-fan known professionally as Bruce Lee was a Hong Kong-American actor, director, martial artist, martial arts instructor, and philosopher. His daughter Shannon Emery Lee is an American actress, martial artist and businesswoman. A company run by Shannon Lee is suing one fast food chain which is based in Guangzhou by alleging that the latter has used her father’s image as a logo for their chain restaurants.

Shannon Lee’s Bruce Lee Enterprises alleges Real Kungfu has used the image in its logo without permission. As a result they have demanded a compensation worth $30m (£23.1m) and wants the Real Kungfu to remove the logo with immediate effect. Reports suggest, Trump administration is in ongoing talks on how intellectual property rights are handled and China had agreed to the penalties that could be imposed under acts of violation.

Shannon says it was the right time to strike on the iron as it was already hot. So she managed to file a 30m dollar law suit against the Chinese restaurant Real Kungfu which has been using the like alike logo of Bruce Lee for 15 years!

In defense the restaurant has said that the first time when they used the logo 15 years ago they got the approval from the local Chinese authorities. But they failed to communicate this to the Bruce Lee enterprises. It will be interesting to see if China actually stands on the agreement of intellectual property rights signed between them and the US administration.
