In the first BBC is launching a special campaign to celebrate female athletes. Through a women’s sports season, Change the Game, the BBC network will broadcast more live programs based solely on women’s sport. These will be aired on BBC TV, radio and on other digital platforms of the channel. The director of BBC Sport stated in a statement that it is a ‘fantastic platform’ which will offer coverage to ‘unrivaled line-up of leading talent’.
Moreover, the audience will also enjoy a share of special insights into the best analysis of every sport. The added advantage being, the section will be hosted by expert presenters, pundits, and commentators. The campaign will also provide add-on content which will send out behind-the-scenes documentaries, original journalism, iPlayer box sets, and podcasts, plus the live action on sports.
Change the Game season will commence from Saturday, May 4 on BBC One at 17:10 BST. The campaign is also making news for live-streaming highlights from the golf’s Solheim Cup. This resulted from the agreement deal of BBC with the Ladies European Tour. The highlights of the reputed cup will be transmitted from the tournament venue and will be shown on BBC Two or BBC Four at the end of each day’s play. The highlights of the reputed golf cup will also be available on BBC iPlayer.
