Smartwatches are an up-to-date technology that has been expanding a lot between humans. This smart device is used as a phone which connects to your smart phone and helps share messages, data, time and other relevant files. One of the common use of smartwatch is to detect and measure your heart rate or rhythm.
However, some people might actually find abnormal heart rhythm detected by the watch which will alarm them. This is even more common between younger adults who feel the need to check their health more often. It is commonly asked whether the users need to do more checkups on their health or if the watch itself is not working well.
However, a debate will be conducted in the Meet the Trialist of the Apple Heart Study on Tuesday at EHRA 2019, a scientific congress of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) that starts tomorrow in Lisbon, Portugal, which will discuss all these problems.
If we are discussing health problems, Atrial fibrillation is a very common condition which affects the heart rhythm of younger adults. It is the leading cause of almost 20 – 30% of heart attacks and strokes in our planet.
This disorder can be prevented using medicines including oral anticoagulation. However, this treatment is not effective for younger adults as the disorder is not common for young ages. According to Dr. Hein Heidbuchel, which is the EHRA president, “We can assume that many people wearing an Apple Watch will be younger.”
